Norman Haire Fund for Sexology Studies
Georgia Carr, a PhD candidate in the Department of Linguistics, was awarded the Norman Haire Fund for Sexology Studies. Georgia’s PhD project seeks to understand how sex education is taught and, by extension, how it can achieve its goals of improving health outcomes and social outcomes for young people. The scholarship was established in 2020 by a generous bequest from Norman Haire for provide financial assistance to research students and academics undertaking research in sexology; the interdisciplinary study of human sexualities. Georgia will use the funds towards an international conference in Tunisia, as well as publications assistance to publish her PhD thesis as a book.
